Happy New Year! And all that jazz. I hope you all enjoyed it in whatever way you saw fit.

Now, back to business. I’m looking for some new feedback on part of the first chapter of my most recently finished (well, the first edit anyway) book, The Searcher’s Want. Here’s a quick blurb of the story.

The world thinks that all of the atrocities that happen have humans as their culprit. Humans in fact are only fifty percent responsible. The rest have demons as the guilty party. There are four different kinds of demon that combined number in their thousands that perpetrate these fifty percent and they do it solely because they can. These demons were created for good but upon their birth realised that their powers could be used for selfish deeds and take over the world. Only a select few know this. They are called Searchers. The Searchers have been stopping them and protecting the world for over four hundred years.

Of the current batch of searchers based at their world headquarters underground in Manchester City Centre, Aaron Watch is the current third in command to the searcher general, but most see him as the general in waiting. As Aaron and his searcher friends do this they must maintain a normal life to the outside world.

Recently they have found evidence that the demons look to be banding together again. They want to take back a world they see as theirs. The searchers must stop them soon and for good. At any cost. A cost which may change the world forever.
